If i could turn the world upside down,
and make it topsy turvy
i would fly so high and look at my feet with
perspective overwhelming and:
like the view from a plane but even more,
so many problems reduced to ants yet:
clouds::lined with ideas:and:plans:and:dreams so:
floaty:lofty::so close my hands could:graze so gently:
trade gaze with icarus:and look away when he plum:mets
i could:cuddle:right into this pent:house:apart:ment but:
:this balcony is so buoyant:
:isolating and:
:holds my vapor:ephemeral like a balloon of hot air:
:fizzling in my grasp then:=:-: : .
if I could turn the world right back’
I’d flip it once more, just to walk again
[grounded]
like the stone beneath each step
[rugged]
like the mended dreams that never lept
[travelled]
like the road I stepped to stake my tent
if I could turn the world upside down,
I’d only conjur that in my head
a chance to consider my compass;
that blue star peaking I hadn’t noticed
but I’m still walking
foot after feet after toes and clenched teeth
if over:cast is today then -
I’m here to jog it
